Mississippi Delta

The Mississippi Delta is and always will be my home no matter where I find myself settling.  Its where I grew up. Its the one thing I know best. And of all the places I've been and photographed there isn't anything quite like it.  I can imagine a lot of people from the Mississippi Delta reading this and saying " what are you talking about? This place is boring and flat."  The thing is that the beauty and history are so unappreciated by many in the area. People have been dwelling too long about how there isn't anything to to, or constantly talking about how they want to move as far away as possible from it that they cant truly see whats here. That is why I'm so glad to be a photographer. I want to be able to show others what they are missing if they would only just stop for a minute and appreciate what we have here. I won't go into what we do or don't have. I will only show you. What you see might be just pieces of lad you over look or don't pay much attention to or colors and lines that you haven't caught your eye until now. I believe its all beautiful and I hope I am sharing it with others that will appreciate it

Kelsey and Matt's Engagement Session

Kelsey and Matt couldn't have picked a better day to do their session. The weather was Amazing!  Throughout their session we traveled from Madison to downtown Canton photographing along the way.  I am truly looking forward to their wedding day! (November 20th) I hope the weather is just as beautiful then as it was this day. Here are a few from their engagement session.

Robert Norton's fine wood working

Some may be thinking.. why is this guy taking pictures of this guy and his shop?  Well to answer that question. I was hired by the owner of the piece of furniture that Mr. Norton is building to document the progress and photograph the small details that are important to the project. The idea behind this is to put the images in Fine Woodworking Magazine and publicize the hiden talent that Mr. Norton has.

Robert Norton is a carpenter in Cleveland, Mississippi. He mainly does restoration work on old furniture. He also does custom woodworking like the table you will see below. The photograph of the photograph is what he is building. The one in the photograph is one that he had built several years ago and wants to recreate it to show off its uniqueness in the magazine. Mr. Norton told me that day, " I have every issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine that has ever been published and I have yet to see anything like the piece that I am working on."  Here are some images that give you a peak into Mr. Norton's work shop. There will be more to come as the project continues.
