I photographed the McPhail family several months ago before John David left off for Texas to finish his high school education. Soon after we were planning a date to shoot his senior portraits. When he came home for the Thanksgiving Holiday we met up and just wondered around their property to do these pictures. It ended up being more like a hangout than anything. And in between our conversations about his new school, hunting and his college plans we got a few pictures in. I really enjoyed it because I hadn't really ever hung out with him before even tho we have been going to the same church for many, many years. It was cool to realize we have similar interests in photography and hunting. Things I never would have known if I didn't get the chance to shoot these senior portraits.. Here are a few photographs of John David that I feel give you a good idea of who he is..

:::Baby Lucy:::
Babies can be the easiest thing to photograph or the hardest thing to photograph and it usually depends on how much sleep the baby has had. Lucy was absolutely adorable but man she wasn't giving me anything to work with for the longest time. She was just sitting there looking at me with this blank expression like " who are you and what is that thing your putting in my face thats making clicking noises?.. and No the toys and the dog aren't going to make me smile today... sooorrryyy." haha but it turned out fine I was relieved to see her crack a smile and all it took was her daddy picking her up and placing her on his head.. she seemed to love that. Im glad we caught her at that time because if we had started any later I think she would have either been crying because she was tired or she would just be falling asleep. Nether of which would be very good for a christmas card.
